Challah Works is Elon Hillel’s homegrown, challah-baking program, modeled after Nazun/Challah for Hunger and our own SoupWorks program. Similar to SoupWorks, challah can be ordered for students to enjoy. However, while SoupWorks focuses on student wellness, Challah Works focuses on social action. The money raised (each challah is $5), minus costs, is donated to the Chaplain’s Discretionary Fund, which provides emergency assistance to Elon students, faculty, and staff.

Challah Works also provides opportunities for students to get involved and learn new skills. The marketing team will make sure orders are handled and ingredients are on hand for baking; the baking team will bake in shifts, including dough prep, braiding, baking, and wrapping.

We invite you to order a Challah Works challah. Once we have reached our limit for the week, the form will close, so please try again the following week. Students will need to pick up their challah at the Sklut Hillel Center on Fridays before Shabbat.
