Jewish Life and Hillel Leadership
Student and staff leaders at Elon are creative, collaborative, and innovative. Our student-led staff-mentored community allows students to create, develop, and execute meaningful and engaging programs that are fun and inspiring to their peers, while learning from a team of dedicated professionals who support their journeys.
Meaningful connections are the hallmark of our program; we estimate that our staff and student leaders have reached more than 70% of the Jewish student body over all class years and encouraged them to participate in Jewish Life on Elon’s campus.
Our most important tenet is that all students on our campus, no matter how they are Jewish, no matter how Jewish they are, or even whether they are Jewish, feel welcome at the Sklut Hillel Center and at all Jewish life events and programs.
Shabbat Chair Hana Hofeld from Chicago, IL came to Elon because of the strong and vibrant Jewish Life on campus, and got involved immediately by coming to the Welcome Back Dinner and the First Year Ice Cream Social.
Since she arrived at Elon in the fall of 2018, she has attended 24 separate Hillel events, and is thrilled with Jewish life at Elon. As she said, “I knew that Jewish life would be important to me in on campus, but Elon Hillel has exceeded my expectations, with the amazing programs, great staff, and opportunities to lead. I am so glad I chose to come to school here.”
