The Phoenix
Report, Elon Student Television's news program, began airing this
month on the university's cable channel 14. The program airs live
Tuesdays at 7:30 p.m.
The March
11th show featured a report from the Kennedy Space Center in Cape
Canaveral, Fla., on the future of the space program after the recent
shuttle disaster.
Anchors for
the program were selected through competitive tryouts. This spring's
news-anchor team includes Scott Myrick and Matt Belanger. Ashley
Holmes presents the weather. Anna Brodrecht anchors entertainment,
and Kate Hart is on sports.
David Douglas,
public relations coordinator, launched a "News that Matters"
promotional campaign for the ESTV news show. It includes a series
of posters posted around campus and a series of 10-, 15- and 30-second
promotional spots airing on Elon Student Television. One
of the posters - assembled by Douglas - is featured with this article.
