Using sophisticated survey research software in a computer-assisted telephone interviewing center on campus, Elon students conduct frequent statewide scientific polls on issues of importance to North Carolinians. Information from the non-partisan polls is shared with media, citizens and researchers to facilitate representative democracy and public policy making through the better understanding of the opinions and needs of North Carolina citizens. More than 350 students, representing political science and a variety of other majors, work as phone interviewers each year. Dr. Tim Vercellotti is director of the Elon University Poll. |
