Anderson Has Column about Web Governance Published in News & Record
Janna Anderson, assistant professor in the School of Communications, had a column titled "Shared governance of the Web is vital to the greater good" published in the Greensboro News & Record Nov. 11.
Anderson, who is leading a group of faculty, staff and students in the Internet Governance Forum in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, wrote that the Internet should be patrolled by a shared governance to promote a more equal and democratic system of sharing information.
Anderson writes, " People around the world must unite to emphasize the positives and minimize the negatives at work in our evolving and ever more sophisticated networked world. That's why computer scientists and engineers, policy experts, businesspeople, social activists and members of civil society are working together to leverage the Internet to benefit global good. Nobody wants to mess this one up. It's too important."
