Marisol - a drama by José
Rivera
Black Box Theatre, Center for the Arts, Oct. 3-9,
2007
Abandoned by her guardian angel, who leaves to
fight in the war that is raging in the heavens, Marisol
must navigate the unpredictable, dangerous and
surprisingly funny world of the Bronx as she searches
for a safe haven and for life's meaning. With a
debt to the magical realism of Latin American
novelists, Rivera's apocalyptic tragic-comedy
pulses with a nightmarish mix of sensuality, paranoia,
religious ecstasy and hope.

Stories and the play I Am a Camera
by John Van Druten, the provocative American musical
Cabaret is a brilliant commentary on the
atmosphere of pre-war Berlin during the rise of the

world of the Kit Kat Klub with characters such as the

"Cabaret."
