Health and Wellness

The well-being of our students is paramount and a top priority. In addition to the health and wellness services provided by Elon to all students, our department majors have access to an athletic trainer and physical therapist, both of whom have significant experience working with performing artists. The sign-up sheet for the Athletic Trainer is on the bulletin board next to Studio B in the Center for the Arts.

Dance Studio Reservations

The dance studios are reserved for Performing Arts Department academic classes and rehearsals. No unauthorized use allowed. Dance Studio schedules are posted outside of Studio A, B and C each Monday by 9:00 a.m. during the fall, winter and spring semesters. Performing Arts majors and students enrolled in department classes may sign up for studio time when available. Faculty and staff may contact Professor Jen Guy Metcalf ( with studio requests by Fridays at 3:00 p.m. for the next week.

Space Reservations

The following spaces may be reserved through the production manager, Professor Bill Webb (  Center for the Arts 104, Center for the Arts Design/Technology Lab, Center for the Arts 131 Black Box Theatre, Williamson Avenue Acting Studio, Scott Studios Rehearsal Hall and Roberts Studio Theatre. Typical space usage includes: Student Performances, Rehearsals, Master Classes, Auditions and Meetings.

Theatrical Intimacy

Dr. Shawyer and Professor Shively are affiliated with Theatrical Intimacy Education (TIE). TIE is an organization that is dedicated to educating and empowering artists with the tools to ethically, efficiently, and effectively stage intimacy, nudity, and sexual violence.
