The event: Students, faculty, staff, community members will be carefully selected to discuss a chosen topic in an open, educational, and respectful forum to benefit Elon University and the wider community.
Format: Our moderator will open the evening and facilitate the conversation. After opening remarks we will hear from 10 community and Elon panelists who will have 2-3 minutes to give an oral statement. You are invited to read an online version of these statements in advance of the event.
After the community panelists have completed their statements, the moderator will ask each invited panelist to make an opening statement (3-5 minutes), after which a conversation will begin among the expert panelists and the community panelists.
During the program the audience will be encouraged to write any questions [forms will be provided] they would like to have addressed and these will be passed to the moderator who will choose which questions to make part of the conversation.
By 8:00 p.m. the moderator will close the conversation and invite all participants and audience members to continue sharing their views informally at a reception next door in McKinnon Hall.
When: Monday, November 4, 2013 from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m.
