Writing Center Philosophy
Elon University’s Writing Center consultants help students develop strategies for producing more effective texts in any discipline or genre across all
stages of the writing process, including
brainstorming ideas, choosing a topic, creating a
draft,organizing and developing arguments,
revising, and editing. The Writing Center is not a
“skills” center or a “correction” service, so while
consultants can help writers with grammar, they
will not make any changes on a paper, edit, or
“fix” a paper for the writer.
