Now in its eighth year, the "Take a Student to Lunch" program, supported by the Offices of the Provost and Vice President for Student Life continues to be an outstanding opportunity for outside the classroom Student/Faculty/Staff interaction. The program is designed for Faculty or Staff members to invite students for a meal, coffee, or a snack and use the time to get to know each other better and/or to discuss projects, events, or activities. Feedback about the program has been very positive and the program has been shown to have strengthened or initiated new collaborations between faculty/staff and students.
Each faculty or staff member may use the program with up to five students (either individually or in small groups) each Spring and Fall semester, and with up to two students each Winter term.
Using the Program
Any faculty or staff member may use the program to have coffee or a meal with a student or small group of students.
Faculty or staff members may invite between 1 and 5 students to a meal, snack, or coffee in one of the approved locations.
When checking out, the faculty/staff member should let the cashier know they are using the "Take a Student to Lunch" program and present their Phoenix Card for verification.
