Areas of Expertise

Principally, Steve DeLoach's research looks at the effects of macroeconomic conditions on the behavior of individuals and households. For example, some of his recent research has looked at issues such as the effects of the business cycle on the time workers spend searching for jobs, or how it affects how much time high school students spend studying. He has a particular interest in the impact of access to financial services, such as microcredit and savings, on a household's ability to maintain wealth and food consumption in the wake of adverse economic conditions.
