“To whom much is given, much is expected. Elon has given me so much, and the least I can do is give something back. Elon provided me with a world-class education, and I am proud to be an Elon alumna.”

Christopher Adams & Beulah Mitchell

Beulah Mitchell’s experiences at Elon, and those of her son, Christopher Adams ’03, inspired her to make an estate gift to the university. She is now a member of the Order of the Oak, Elon’s planned giving society.

“This gift is an important celebration of Christopher’s accomplishments at Elon. This donation also underscores one of our family values — the importance of higher education and earning a college degree.”

“It’s a blessing that I had the opportunity to get a scholarship and go to Elon. Elon means the world to me. It has put me in the position I am in right now, working for a successful company. The fact that we’re giving back to Elon doesn’t compare to what Elon has given me.”

“Josh and I feel that making an estate gift is a great way for people our age to give money to Elon. Even though we can’t give millions now, we know later on we will be making a contribution with our estate gift.”

Thomas and Allison Hart

“We recognize that Elon really needs donations and endowment to increase as much as possible," says Thomas Hart '98. "We know there is a significant gap between the amount it costs to attend Elon and the amount students pay in tuition. We want to do as much as we can to allow students to have the same opportunities that we did."

“Elon did an amazing thing in opening up my mind to a lot of things in the world, including the importance of community service and seeing the world in different ways," says Allison Hart ’98. "We’ve always been passionate about Elon.”

“I am where I am today because of the values and lessons I learned at Elon. I feel it is my duty to give back because what I had at Elon was made possible through gifts from other people, and now it is my turn to give. I consider it a wise investment because the school continues to grow and maintain its core characteristics.”
