How do I become a member?
Donors join the 1889 Society by making a gift of any size, to any part of campus, for two or more consecutive years. Yearly consecutive giving is determined by Elon’s fiscal year, which is June 1-May 31. Donors can immediately join the 1889 Society by making a recurring monthly or annual gift.
Why is it important for donors to support Elon every year?
Annual donor support provides premier student programming. Yearly support maintains Elon’s best-value ranking by allowing the university to accurately forecast and execute budgets that are student-centered and fiscally sound. Loyal support is an important, reliable source of dollars for students.
How am I recognized?
All current 1889 Society members receive special courtesies throughout the year. Examples include:
- Annual, iconic 1889 Society calendar
- Elon desktop wallpaper
- Occasional tokens of appreciation that can be used to display 1889 membership
- Special recognition at events
