In fall 2004, Elon University trustees launched a bold and historic initiative, partnering with community leaders in Greensboro, N.C., to open a new law school with a difference. Their vision was to allow students to thrive in an engaged learning community, form strong bonds with practicing lawyers and judges, and prepare to become leaders in their profession and their communities.

The Elon Law charter class, which enrolled in fall 2006 and graduated on May 24, 2009, embodies the hopes and dreams of those who created this school. They have received an excellent legal education that will propel them to be great attorneys. And they understand their obligation to turn the investments made in this special law school into rich dividends – careers of service and leadership in society.
