Hoang Lam is a first-generation immigrant who considers North Carolina home.  He is a graduate of Duke University and the North Carolina School of Law.  Before joining Elon Law, he practiced immigration and criminal law for nine years at a nonprofit organization in Raleigh, where he represented inmates in the immigration courts and post-conviction proceedings in state and federal courts.  He has successfully defended immigration clients who feared persecution in their countries, merited cancellation of removal, or were otherwise not removable.  He also won release for clients with unlawful conviction for murder and other serious felonies.
