Jaimie Biermann - Assistant Director of Residence Life (Danieley Center Neighborhood)

Jaimie received her bachelor's degree from Grand Valley State University in Communication Studies.  She joins us from Indiana State University where she worked for Residential Life for the past couple years while also earning her Master's degree in Student Affairs and Higher Education.  

Matthew Antonio Bosch - Director of Gender and LGBTQIA Center

Matthew Antonio comes to Elon from the University of Minnesota, where he has served as director of the GLBTA Programs Office within the Office for Equity and Diversity.  Prior to his work at the University of Minnesota, Matthew Antonio served more than five years as chief diversity officer at Minnesota’s North Hennepin Community College. He began his career working in residence life positions at Macalester College and the University of Minnesota.  Matthew Antonio has a master’s degree in higher education from Harvard University, a bachelor’s degree in linguistics and psychology from Cornell University and a certificate in entrepreneurship for communities of color from North Hennepin Community College.

Marianne Brigola - Assistant Director of Career Services and School of Communications

No stranger to Elon, Marianne previously served as one of the inaugural SPDC Career Fellows, and as an assistant coordinator to the Elon in LA and Bridges in LA summer domestic study program. In addition to her experience at Elon, she has also been a Career Counselor at the University of Virginia and a mental health counselor in Wake County, NC.

Shane Carew - Assistant Men's Soccer Coach

Shane graduated from Charlotte in 2004 with a bachelor's degree in English and Communication studies.  Carew played collegiate soccer at Charlotte from 2001 to 2003, where he was a three-time All-Conference selection and received National Team of the Week honors for the 49ers. Carew also played professionally in his native Ireland with Shelbourne FC and Kilkenny City, and also with the Long Island Rough Riders. During his time at Charlotte, Carew was selected to the Irish National Team to play in the 2003 World University Games in South Korea.

Dana Carnes - Associate Director of the Center for Leadership

Dana joins us from Wittenberg University in Ohio where she worked in Residence Life and Leadership programs for the past three years. Dana received her bachelor’s degree from Heidelberg University and her master’s degree from The Ohio State University.

Rick Church - Music Director, Department of Performing Arts

Rick was acting Music Director for the Department of Performing Arts in 2012-2013.  He has extensive experience as the former Music Director at Wright State University, an accompanist and vocal coach at New York University, and as the Music Director for Interlochen Center for the Arts in Michigan. Additionally, he has extensive experience as a private voice instructor in Michigan and New York.

Tyler Engle - Assistant Softball Coach

Tyler is a  graduate of Ohio State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Education. While attending OSU, Tyler was a 4 year letterman on the baseball team starting at shortstop. This past May, Tyler completed requirements for a Master’s degree in Education from Ohio Valley University while serving as a graduate assistant coach.

Bob Frigo - Associate Director, Kernodle Center for Service Learning and Community Engagement

Bob comes to us from North Carolina State University where he served as the Senior Assistant Director for the Park Scholarships program. He has prior experience in the areas of service, service-learning, leadership, advising, first-year seminar, orientation, honors programs, teaching, and development through positions held in student and academic affairs at Georgia Southern University, Savannah College of Art and Design, and the University of Birmingham. Bob holds a B.A. in English from Marquette University, a M.Ed. in Student Personnel Services from the University of South Carolina, and a M.A. in Irish Literature from Queen’s University Belfast where he served as a Rotary International Ambassadorial Scholar.

Josh Fulcher - Utilities Maintenance Mechanic

Josh, an aspiring new electrician in our department, is working towards aquiring certification in appliance repair and maintenance while also working towards becoming licensed in his field. He has already demonstrated valuable work ethic in the Electrical Shop, completing all tasks effectively and proficiently. Josh and his family reside in Yanceyville, NC.

Friederike "Rike" Habbel - Assistant Director of Residence Life (Colonnades Neighborhood)

Rike joins us from Indiana University where she worked in Residential Programs and Services for the past two years while completing her Master's degree in Higher Education and Student Affairs. Rike received her bachelor's degree from Grand Valley State University in Communication Studies.   

Frances Hamilton - Assistant Director of Annual Giving for Athletics

Frances assisted with the Phoenix Club last year as a student worker. She will receive her Bachelor of Arts in Public Administration with a minor in Business Administration in May 2014 from Elon.  Her honors include the President’s List and the Dean's List, Omicron Delta Kappa, and Pi Sigma Alpha.

Lindsey Hammond - Assistant Director of Greek Life

Lindsey will serve as one of three Greek Life professional staff members working with our fraternity and sorority community.  She most recently was the Coordinator for Alcohol, Tobacco and Other Drug Education at George Mason University. She holds a B.S. in Biology and Psychology from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University (Virginia Tech) and an M.Ed. in Higher Education and Student Affairs from the University of South Carolina.

Rachel "Rei" Haycraft - Assistant Director of Residence Life (Global Neighborhood)

Rei joins us from Appalachian State University in Boone, NC where she received both her bachelor’s and Master's degrees; a B.F.A. in Graphic Design and an M.A. in Educational Media Production, respectively. 

Don Hill - Director of Golf, Head Men's Golf Coach

Don holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.  While at UNC, Don played on the Men’s Golf team for four years earning All-American honors his senior year.  Don comes to Elon from the University of South Carolina where he served as an Associate Head Golf Coach.

Alissa Jaster - Assistant Athletic Trainer

Alissa has a Master of Education degree in Exercise Science from Auburn University.  Prior to joining the Athletic Training Staff at Elon, Alissa did a post-graduate internship at the University of Florida.


Jennifer Johnson - Assistant Director of Student Life and Senior Scholar Support

Jenni joined the Elon Academy staff in June. She graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with BAs in Psychology and Afro-American Studies. She served as a college advisor for the Carolina College Advising Corps and then completed a Master of Education in Counselor Education at North Carolina State University.

Jordan King - Assistant Director of Greek Life

Jordan will serve as one of three Greek Life professional staff members working with our fraternity and sorority community, and specifically serving the Loy Neighborhood.  He joins the staff after serving as a graduate assistant for fraternity and sorority housing at Virginia Tech. He holds a B.S. in Sport Sciences from Ohio University and an M.A.E.d. in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University (Virginia Tech).

Tina Kissell - Assistant Coordinator of Disabilities Services

A psychologist by training, Tina comes to Elon most recently from Moore County Schools where she served for a number of years as Director of Student Services for K-12.  Tina earned a B.S. in Social Psychology and Counseling from Juniata College and an M.S.Ed. in School Psychology from Bucknell University. She is also a doctoral candidate in the Educational Leadership and Cultural Foundations program at UNC-Greensboro.  

Matthew Kingsbury - Assistant Athletics Trainer

Matt joins Elon from the University of Maryland where he worked as an Athletic Trainer, primarily with football.  Matt received his Master’s Degree in Athletic Training from Shenandoah University.

Deandra Little - Managing Director at the Center for the Advancement of Teaching and Learning, Associate Professor of English

Deandra comes to Elon from the University of Virginia, where she spent the past ten years, serving most recently as an associate professor and associate director of the Teaching Resource Center and teaching in the English Department and courses for first-year students. Deandra holds a B.A. in English and German from Samford University and a M.A. and Ph.D. in English from Vanderbilt University.

Chris Long - Director of Operations for Men's Basketball

Chris is a 2011 graduate of Elon with a Bachelor of Arts degree. During his time at Elon, Chris played on the Men’s Basketball team.

Adam Miller-Stubbendick - Assistant Chaplain and Director of Religious & Spiritual Life

Adam begins a one-year position as Assistant Chaplain and Director of Religious & Spiritual Life with the Truitt Center on August 1.  He comes to Elon from Bethel Lutheran Church in Jamestown, New York and has pastored churches in Nebraska, Illinois, and Cairo, Egypt. Adam graduated from Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter, Minnesota with a Bachelor of Arts degree and received his Master of Divinity from Lutheran School of Theology in Chicago.  He was ordained as a pastor in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America in 2008.

Lauren Moehlman - Coordinator of the Prospect Database

Lauren is a 2012 graduate of Elon, originally from Burlington. Her degree is in Political Science.

Nolan Patouillet - Assistant Director of Residence Life (Oaks Neighborhood)

Nolan completed his undergraduate studies from Geneva College and graduated with a Master’s degree from NC State in Higher Education Administration.  Nolan comes to Elon from NC State where he served as a Residence Director.

Jessica Prencipe - Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach

Jessica joins us from The Citadel where she served as a graduate assistant coach. She will be completing her Masters in Health, Exercise and Sports Science this August. She also holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Springfield College.

Sara Shechter - Assistant Director of Career Services

Sara recently graduated from the University at Buffalo with a master’s in Student Affairs Administration.  She worked for 2 years as a graduate assistant in Career Services at the University at Buffalo and also served a year prior to that in the Career Planning office at the Sage Colleges in Albany, NY.

Margaret "Maggie" Sheridan - Elon 101 Advising Fellow

Maggie completed her B.A. and M.A. degrees in English from Stetson University. While at Stetson, she worked as an advising specialist in their office of Career Development and Academic Advising and assisted in the teaching of introductory writing classes. For the next ten months, Maggie will be working closely with Jason Springer, Director of Elon 101, to transition the Elon 101 TA program to a peer mentor model.

Monet Thomas (Elon Alum of 2007) - Assistant Director of Residence Life (Historic Neighborhood)

Monet was a Resident Director of Residence Life from 2008-2010.  She received her bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing, and left Elon to get her Masters of Fine Arts in Creative Writing from Eastern Washington University in Spokane, Washington. 

Brian Tracz - Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach

Brian served as Director of Human Performance at New Mexico Military Institute prior to his arrival at Elon.  Brian has a Master of Science in Health, Exercise and Sport Science from the Citadel Graduate College.

Lauren Varboncoeur - Advising Fellow

Lauren Varboncoeur joins us as an Advising Fellow to support general advising, transfer students, and to teach the Exploring Majors and Careers course while Troy Martin is on leave for 2013-14 to work on his dissertation. Lauren received a BA in Sociology and Spanish from Bucknell University and earned an M. S. Ed. in College Counseling from Old Dominion University. While studying at ODU, Lauren worked as an advising intern in their Center for Major Exploration. Lauren also complemented her graduate studies by working for a number of years as a services specialist and case manager for ForKids, Inc., a non-profit organization in the Norfolk area for families who have been homeless or are at risk for homelessness.

Kenneth Wilson – Coordinator of Interactive Projects

• Three years of professional experience as videographer for the Urban Entomology Lab at Florida and with Redvision Systems; prior to that, he worked in the Fabrication Lab at the University of Florida

Lauren is a graduate of Elon and holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Elementary Education and Special Education.  Lauren was a 4 year member of the Cheer team at Elon, serving as captain her senior year.

Joan Dawson - Program Assistant for Cultural Programs

Joan returns to Elon where she graduated in 1985 with a degree in Business Administration. Joan has most recently worked in the Alamance-Burlington School System as a teacher assistant. She is joined on campus by her daughter Taylor Dawson, and is married to former Elon baseball standout Bobby Dawson, '85.

Kenneth McKinney - Utilities Maintenance Mechanic

Kenneth comes to us with 22 years of industrial and plant maintenance, welding, and pipe fitting experience. Working in the HVACR shop, Kenneth, has added new skill sets to our department, offering knowledge of heating equipment, iron pipe installation, and repair experience. He and his family reside in Reidsville, NC.

Rodney, a resident of Gibsonville, NC, has worked as a plumber since graduating from Western Alamance High School. 

Courtenay Pierce - Program Assistant for Admissions

Courtenay comes to Elon with a rich background as a Human Services professional here in Alamance County for the last six years.  Her organizational skills, energy, attention to detail, and care for working with the public made her an ideal candidate for this position.
