Allison Bryan – Director of the Curriculum Resource Center

Allison Bryan comes to us most recently from the Alamance-Burlington School System; her background includes librarianship and instruction in a variety of K-12 settings – in a classroom, in a media center, and at the district level.  Allison began her career as a science teacher and made her way into the media center of a traditional high school.  From there, she served several years as the lead media specialist for ABSS as well as the “cybrarian” for the Career & Technical Education Center.  Most recently, Allison worked in the ABSS Curriculum Department supporting digital learning the Special Program content areas at all grade levels.

Jess Buller - Interim Assistant Director of Student Involvement

Jess is a 2016 graduate of Elon and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Sport & Event Management, with minors in Leadership Studies and Business Administration. She was an Isabella Cannon Leadership Fellow and also completed the Leadership Education and Development Program (LEAD). She served as the Special Events Director in the Center for Leadership and was responsible for fully executing Pay It Forward Week and the LEADSTRONG Week. In addition, Jess was instrumental in planning and facilitating the 2013 Intersect Conference as the “Intersect” Leadership and Diversity Coordinator. Jess also served as the Fundraising and Events Intern at Friendship Works Youth Mentoring Charity during a semester in London during fall 2014.

Adrian Carpenter - Coordinator of Annual Giving

Adrian comes to us as a fresh graduate from James Madison University. As a student, Adrian was one of the founders of their Student Alumni Association and worked closely with the Alumni Relations Office to create a philanthropic culture on campus. He also served as the student member on the Alumni Board of Directors and assisted in a number of successful projects, including JMU’s giving day.

Felicia Cenca - Campus Kitchen Coordinator and Coordinator for Violence Response

Felicia graduated from Elon in May with a Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Studies and Philosophy.  She is a member of the Phi Beta Kappa honor society.  While attending Elon, Felicia received the Dr. Earl Danieley Leadership Award for her work as a team leader and peer educator in SPARKS, was president of Alpha Omicron Pi, and volunteered at Loy Farm and the Elon Community Garden.  Felicia has also served as an intern with the Carolina Farm Stewardship Association, as the family and youth coordinator with the Massachusetts Audubon Society, and as a teaching assistant in Environmental Studies.

Owen Covington - Director, Elon University News Bureau 

Owen has more than 15 years of journalism experience and joins Elon after serving as a senior reporter for the Triad Business Journal since 2010. He previously was a reporter and editor at the Messenger-Inquirer of Owensboro, Kentucky, and the High Point (N.C.) Enterprise. He also worked as a researcher and writer for the Program on Southern Politics, Media, and Public Life. Owen has a bachelor’s degree in English from Davidson College and a master’s degree in journalism and mass communication from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Hannah Daly – Athletic Training

Hannah served as a Football Graduate Assistant at Florida International University.  She recently completed a Master of Science in Sports Management and Recreation at Florida International University.

Zach Fisher - Elon-Alamance Health Partners Graduate Fellow 

Zach is a 2016 Elon graduate, he is a Biology major from Greensboro.  Zach is working at the Alamance County Health Department

Frank Hartfield, Jr. - Community Director for the Historic Neighborhood

Frank comes to Elon from the University of Wisconsin where he served as a Complex Director in the Housing and Residence Life department. Previously he had served as a Residence Coordinator at the University of Central Arkansas. Frank earned his Bachelor of Arts in Speech Communications from Webster University and a Master of Science in College Student Personnel Services and Administration from the University of Central Arkansas. While studying at Qingdao University in China, he was engaged in a Chinese cultural emersion program.

Tarah Holland - Assistant Director of Graduate Admissions

Tarah will be responsible for working with the graduate admission/program staff in all aspects of the marketing, recruitment and admissions process for Elon’s seven campus-based graduate programs with emphasis on its graduate programs in the Schools of Communication and Education.  Tarah has prior experience in public relations, tourism, and web development.  She holds a BS in Journalism and Mass Communication from North Carolina A&T State University and a MA in Interactive Media from Elon University.

Matt Howell - Assistant Director of Campus Technology Support

After spending several years leading face to face technology support at UNC Chapel Hill, Matt is joining the Campus Technology Support team to take our Service Desk efforts to the next highest level. Matt has a Bachelor of Arts and a Master of Science of Information Science from UNC Chapel Hill.


Josh Jones - Community Director for the Danieley Neighborhood

Josh was a Complex Director in Residence Life at Providence College in Rhode Island before coming to Elon.  He has previous residence life experience from Farmingdale State College as a Resident Director and Murray State University as a Graduate Assistant. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Business and his Master in Business Administration from Murray State University. Josh was a collegiate football athlete and an Academic All-American. He also earned the Arthur Ashe, Jr. Sports Scholar Award and was inducted into the Beta Gamma Sigma International Honor Society.

Graham Joseph - Assistant Athletic Trainer

Graham joins us from East Tennessee State University where he served as a Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer.  Graham holds a Master of Arts in Kinesiology and Sports Studies with a concentration in Exercise Physiology and Performance from East Tennessee State University.  Graham’s primary duties will be working with Women’s Lacrosse and Men’s Soccer.


Brandon Joyner ‘15 – Admissions Counselor

Brandon will be joining the Undergraduate Admissions team as the new Admissions Counselor for DC, Delaware and Maryland. Brandon graduated with a BA in Communications and a concentration in Broadcast Journalism. After graduation, Brandon began his career as a Multimedia Journalist and Producer at WECT TV in Wilmington NC. He leaves the television industry to spend more time in his home state recruiting students to his alma mater.

Sarah Kehl - Program Assistant for Global Neighborhood

Sarah Kehl is the new Program Assistant for Global Neighborhood.  She earned a Bachelor of Music in Music Education, Cum Laude, from the University of Oregon. She subsequently served as a middle school band director and elementary music teacher for eight years in California, New Mexico, and South Carolina.  Since 2000, she has enjoyed teaching private piano lessons and accompanying soloists and ensembles.  Sarah currently operates a portrait photography studio in Burlington, NC, specializing in high school senior portraits, pet portraits, and wedding photography.

Allegra Laing - Study Abroad Coordinator

Allegra came to Elon after having served as the Study Abroad Coordinator at N.C. A&T and Study Abroad Advisor at Washington State University. She is a regular presenter at NAFSA Regional Conferences and currently serves as HBCU-Minority Serving Institutions Representative, NAFSA: Association of International Educators, Region VII. She is also Chair-Elect for the North Carolina Association for International Educators. She holds an MA in International Education from the School for International Training and a BA from Spelman College. 

Reikan “Ray” Lin - Assistant Director of The Center for Race, Ethnicity, & Diversity Education

Ray’s social justice work is rooted in anti-racism training that includes a deep racial analysis for equity and community building.  He most recently served as a community organizer at the Racial Equity Institute and Organizing Against Racism NC.  Ray obtained his Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications from the University of California, Santa Barbara, and his Master of Public Health degree in Health Behavior from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.  Ray enjoys distance running and healthy cooking, two activities that help facilitate relationship-building and understanding across multiple perspectives.

Carolyn Macaulay ‘13 - Admissions Counselor

Carolyn will be joining our staff as the new Admissions Counselor for IL, IN, MI, MN and WI. Carolyn comes to us from Asheboro High School where she taught eighth grade social studies. She holds a BA in Middle Grades Education with a concentration in Social Studies and was an Elon Teaching Fellow during undergraduate career at Elon.

George Maxson – Database Administrator

George brings 14 years of database, applications, and systems administration experience to Elon.  He comes to us from a manufacturing company in Durham where he supported Microsoft SQL Server, SharePoint, and several applications and reporting needs.  He holds a B.S. in Information Technology and is a Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist in SharePoint 2010 Configuration.  He also served for 6 years in the U.S. Navy.

Anita McEvoy – Executive Assistant to the President

Originally from Newfoundland, Canada, Anita spent a dozen years working as Executive Administrator to three different presidents at Drexel University in Philadelphia, PA. Prior to that she worked as an Executive Assistant and Executive Operations Assistant for chief executives at companies in both St. John’s, Newfoundland and in Denver, CO. Anita has two step-daughters and she and her husband are relocating to Greensboro, NC.

Missy Mellinger - Care Coordinator

Missy joins the Office of Student Health & Wellness and Counseling Services team as the initial point of contact for student concerns as the Care Coordinator.  She received her Master of Education in College Student Personnel Administration from the University of West Florida.  Missy also holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Wisconsin – Whitewater, where she was the Interim Assistant Director of Intramural and Club Sports.  Missy has previous experience in Collegiate Campus Recreation, Orientation, and Fraternity and Sorority Life.

Emily Mitch - Assistant Director for Fraternity and Sorority Life

Emily received her Master of Arts in College Student Personnel from Bowling Green State University in May where she served two years in the Fraternity & Sorority Life Office as a graduate assistant. She also worked with BGSU’s Young Alumni Council and the University Conduct Committee. In addition, Emily served as a graduate staff intern for the Association of Fraternity/Sorority Advisors annual meeting, and as a campus relationship manager for the Circle of Sisterhood Foundation. Prior to BGSU she served as a Fraternity & Sorority Graduate Intern at the University of Vermont after graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and Psychology from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse.

Selina comes to use from the Randolph Community College Foundation where she most recently served as a Development Specialist. Selina holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from East Tennessee State University with a concentration in Management and Marketing as well as a Certificate of Laboratory Techniques from Alamance Community College.

Olivia is a 2016 Elon graduate, she is a Biology and Public Health Studies major from Kildeer, Illinois.  Olivia is working at Alamance Regional Medical Center.

Anna is a 2016 Elon graduate, she is a Sociology major from Birmingham, Alabama.  Anna is working at Impact Alamance.



Brad Polen - Coordinator of the Annual Giving Student Calling Program

Brad is a 2016 graduate of James Madison University with a B.S. in communications studies.  He has two years of experience as both caller and student caller supervisor.  He is residing in Greensboro, N.C. and looks forward to leading the student calling program.


Kaila Price - Community Director for the Global Neighborhood

Kaila most recently served as the Residence Director at Suffolk University in Boston, MA. She was also a Residence Director at Appalachian State University after serving as a Resident Assistant at Florida State University where she earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology. Kaila earned a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Appalachian State University and has worked as a clinical intern at Daymark Recovery Services in Boone, NC, where she facilitated intensive outpatient therapy and completed psychological assessments for clients dealing with substance abuse.

Brad Puckett - Academic Coordinator

Brad joins us from Wright State University where he served as Leadership Studies Graduate Assistant and was an Academic Advisor to 20 graduate students for their Sports Management Certificate program.  Brad holds an M. Ed., Student Affairs of Higher Education degree, and Minor in Sports Management from Wright State University.

Beth Roberts - Assistant Women’s Lacrosse Coach

Beth joins us from Durham Academy, Durham, NC where she served as a Lower School (Grades 1-4) Physical Education Teacher and Assistant Girl’s Lacrosse Coach.  Beth holds a B.A. in Exercise and Sport Science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.  During her time at UNC, Beth was a 4-year letter winner on the Women’s Lacrosse Team.


Ahmad Saad – Admissions Counselor

Ahmad will be joining the Undergraduate Admissions team as the new Admissions Counselor for New York and New Jersey. Originally from Cary NC, Ahmad is a 2015 graduate from the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill. He graduated with a dual degree in Journalism and Political Science.


Carolina Seigler - Multifaith and Intern Coordinator

As the Multifaith and Intern Coordinator, Carolina (Carrie) Seigler works with student interns and student leaders in the Truitt Center to coordinator Elon’s interfaith programs, and also advises the Interfaith House: Mindfully Plural Living and Learning community.  She is originally from Greenville, SC. Most recently, she was a World Interfaith Harmony Week Ambassador at the United Nations, where she lived in a religiously diverse intentional community.   Carrie holds a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology, with a Minor in Poverty Studies (Magna Cum Laude) from Furman University, where she was inducted into Omicron Delta Kappa, a National Leadership honors society, and was named one of the five Furman Fellow leaders in her senior year.

Marie Shaw - Director of Counseling Center

Dr. Marie Shaw joins Elon from Bucknell University where she served as Assistant Director of Counseling Services.  Marie earned her Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from the University of Tennessee.  Marie also holds a Master of Science in Exercise and Sport Science from UNC Greensboro and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the State University of New York at Binghamton.  Marie moved to the Burlington area with her family in March.  She is a licensed psychologist in North Carolina with extensive experience in general mental health issues, sports psychology, and providing services to survivors of sexual violence.

Father Peter Tremblay - Associate Chaplain for Catholic Life

has joined Elon, replacing Father Gerry Waterman who now serves as the Catholic Campus Minister at Syracuse University. Father Peter attended Franciscan University of Steubenville. After graduating he joined the Franciscan Friars.  He studied at Washington Theological Union receiving a Masters of Divinity degree and was ordained a Catholic Priest in 2012.  Throughout his life, Father Peter has had various and diverse work experiences including working on a farm, truck driving, rebuilding houses for the poor, serving as an associate pastor, and most recently, teaching in a high school. Apart from ministry his hobbies include woodworking and furniture making, along with reading and studying theology, philosophy, and science.

Jessica Waldman - Director of Jewish Life at Hillel

Jessica (Jess) Waldman is the new Director of Jewish Life at Hillel. She joins us from Cornell University’s Hillel in Ithaca, NY, where she served as the Director of Engagement.  Jess is a native of Phoenix, AZ.  She earned both a Bachelor of Arts and a Master of Science in Criminal Justice and Criminology from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. Her Master’s Thesis is published in the Duke Journal for Gender, Law, and Policy.

Jamella Banks - Academic Assistant 

Jamella holds a Bachelor of Science in Sport Management / Minor : Business Administration and Mass Communication from the University of Florida; Gainesville, FL.  Prior to coming to Elon, Jamella served as an Intern in the Otis Hawkins Center for Academic and Personal Excellence at the University of Florida, Gainesville.  During her time as a student; Jamella was extensively involved with the Athletics Department, serving as a Gator Football Ambassador, Gator Guest Services Usher at Florida Gators Baseball, and a Communications Volunteer working with Basketball.

Elizabeth Amonette – Communications Coordinator for Admissions

Lizzy is a 2014 graduate of Elon and holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Strategic Communications, where she was a member of Lambda Pi Eta National Communications Honor Society, and holds a minor in Art. Lizzy brings copywriting editing, graphic design and marketing skills to our department.


Katie Greene - 2016-2017 Career Advising Fellow, Student Professional Development Center

Katie graduated from the University of Massachusetts Lowell with a Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Arts. She worked for 2 ½ years as the Administrative Assistant to the Department of Communication Arts & Sciences, gaining valuable experience in academic affairs. While an employee at Merrimack College, she earned a Master of Education in Higher Education.

Leo Hall - 2016-2017 Career Advising Fellow, Student Professional Development Center

Leo earned a Bachelor of Science in Special Education from Appalachian State University.  After graduation, Leo taught adults Basic Skills at Sampson Community College for three years and then earned a Master of Arts in Higher Education at Appalachian State University. After completing an internship at the University of North Carolina Asheville in career services, Leo realized she wanted to continue helping students with career exploration and development.

Heather Hauser – Administrative Assistant, Martha and Spencer Love School of Business

Heather comes to us from Edward Jones where she served as a Branch Office Administrator.  She has also served as a TASC Case Manager for Coastal Horizons.  Heather holds a B.A. in Human Services from Judson University and a M.S. in Management and Leadership from Montreat College.

Pamela Moffitt – Program Assistant for the English Department

Pamela comes to Elon from Prime Personnel Resources in Burlington where she served as an administrator, and she has also served as an Executive Assistant at UNC Greensboro for the Nanoscience Department. She holds dual-B.A. degrees in Organizational Communication and Public Administration from the University of Central Florida, and held the rank of Sergeant in the United State Air Force.

Alex Saylor - Advancement Communications Coordinator and Project Assistant

Alex is a 2016 Elon graduate with a B.A. Strategic Communications.  Alex has had experience in the PR and marketing field.  His office is located in the newly renovated Advancement Services building.  Alex brings his recent Elon experiences to shed new light on strategies and creative approaches.

Shane Atkinson—Part-time Muslim Coordinator

Shane is from a Southern Baptist background and grew up in Jackson, Mississippi.  He sat with spiritual teachers from the major religious traditions over a ten-year period and accepted Islam in 1999.  In 2011, he was awarded an Ijaza (Masters level traditional degree) to teach Islamic theology, law, and spirituality.  After twenty years in the field of Orthotics and Prosthetics, Shane began studying Chaplaincy at UNC Medical Center in 2015 as the first Muslim in their Pastoral Care department.  He completed four units of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) and teaches in UNC’s CPE program. Shane is the Social Media Coordinator for the Association of Muslim Chaplains and serves as an Associate Imam at As Salaam Islamic Center in Raleigh.

Sandra Bays - Head Cheer Coach

Sandra holds a BA Corporate Communications degree from Elon University with a BA Elementary Education add on degree.  Sandra currently teaches first grade at Elon Elementary School, and rejoins our staff as Head Cheer Coach.  She previously served as Elon Head Cheer and Dance Team Coach from August 2001 – May 2013.

Andre Davis - Event Management and Facilities Assistant 

Andre is a graduate of Elon University and holds a B.S. Degree in Communications.   During his time at Elon, Andre was a 4 year Letterman on the Football team.  Andre joins us from
Campbell University Office of Alumni Relations/Advancement Services where he served as a Graduate Assistant.

Kara Hawkins - Program Assistant- Campus Recreation

Kara is joining Campus Recreation as the Program Assistant for Club Sports. Kara recently earned a Bachelor of Science in Public Health from the University of the South Florida.  While at USF, she completed a health and wellness internship.  She has also worked as a boutique manager and lifestyle coach in a diabetes prevention program.  Kara has a passion for service and wellness, which is a great fit for this position that works very closely with Elon students participating in club sports.

Marcus Olivieri - Assistant Equipment Manager 

Marcus holds a Bachelor of Science in Sport & Event Management with a Minor is Business Administration from Elon University.  During his time at Elon, Marcus was the Head Student Manager for the Elon Football Team.  Prior to returning to Elon, Marcus served as a Seasonal Equipment Manager for the Chicago Bears.


Julie Steed - Truitt Center Part-time Program Assistant

Julie earned a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and History from West Virginia Wesleyan College, followed by a Master of Science in Information Science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.  She was a business analyst, systems analyst, and software developer with Blue Cross Blue Shield North Carolina before spending several years as a full-time parent to three children. She has lived in North Carolina for more than 20 years and enjoys travel with her family and singing in the choir at Holy Comforter Episcopal Church in Burlington.

James Day - Part-time custodian

James was born in Burlington, NC yet raised on a farm in Caswell County where he and his family raised tobacco, corn, wheat, oats, and livestock.  James still resides there today.  James received his certification from NC State University to drive a truck.  He is an avid Wolfpack fan as well as Carolina Panthers fan.  James drove a tractor trailer across most of the USA for 23 years and he has been married to his wife Brenda for 44 wonderful years now.  James will be working at PARC at the Danieley Center.

Crystal Dunn – 3rd shift Custodian

Crystal is originally from Gibsonville, NC and started working with Elon as a Summer Seasonal Custodian.  Crystal then came back to Elon fulfilling a need within the ENVS department working in a Temporary Custodian’s role.  Crystal now joins the ENVS team as a full-time staff member.


Hunter Harrison – Fleet Mechanic II

Hunter grew up ‘spinning wrenches’ and has spent most of his life in the automotive industry. He comes to Elon with a broad knowledge of automotive maintenance and a set of unique skills in the rebuilding of transmissions.


Johnathan James - Plumber Mechanic II

Johnathan comes to us with an Associate Degree from Rockingham Community College, having been previously employed by Triple A Heating & Cooling and Willis & Willis Heating Cooling and Plumbing LLC. Working in the Plumbing shop, Johnathan has added “youthfulness” with a “fresh set of eager hands” to our department.  He and his daughter reside in Reidsville, NC.


Amanda Odom - Gardener

Amanda joins Elon with an AA in Horticultural technology and certificates on both landscape management and greenhouse productions. An enthusiastic horticulturist , she is also  president of the Central Carolina Hosta Society. Amanda and her husband reside in High Point, NC.


Barbara Turner – 3rd shift custodian

Barbara is originally from Reidsville, NC and started working with Elon in a Temporary Custodian’s role, which led to her taking over a new full-time custodian’s position.  Some of Mrs. Turner’s passions are working outside in her garden and participating in several activities with her church.


Timothy “Joe” Whitsett - Utilities Maintenance Mechanic

Joe comes to us having worked in the fuel and oil industry for nearly 16 years. Working in the HVACR shop, Joe has added new skill sets to our department, offering knowledge of heating fuel and oil systems, and preventive maintenance repair experience. He and his family reside in Reidsville, NC.
