The Elon Community Garden was started by Dr. Rebecca Todd Peters’ Environmental Ethics Class in the fall of 2006 to foster education, spirituality, service, community discussion and sustainability. Today students work closely with faculty and staff to maintain the garden year round.
Recently, Professor Michael Strickland started a new Garden Studio class for students. The class was introduced to teach students how to properly plant and uphold a home-scale garden and harvest their own food. The course is taught in both the fall and spring semesters.
