Dear Elon Parents, On behalf of the Parents Council, we would like to welcome the parents of the Class of 2011 and new transfer students to Elon! You have become members of a very special family. Elon is a unique place where students, faculty, staff, and parents work together to further your sons’ and daughters’ education, personal growth, and success. We are looking forward to an exciting year on campus with the opening of the new Academic Village pavilions and completion of the Colonnades residence and dining facilities. As an Elon parent, you are now a member of the Elon Parents Association. The Elon Parents Council serves as the board of the Elon Parents Association, keeping you informed about university activities, policies, programs, and plans for future development. The Council provides parents with a means to share observations, suggestions, or concerns about university programs and student life. Please feel free to contact us or any member of the Council through the Office of Parent Programs at 888.784.ELON. The most enjoyable responsibilities that the association and council assist with are Summer Welcome Events. These informal gatherings are hosted by our members to introduce new students and their families to Elon before the school year begins. It is a great opportunity to network with other parents in your area. For those of you who do not live near one of these events, you are welcome to contact us or any council member through the Office of Parent Programs. A complete list of Summer Welcome Events will be posted on this Web site. Please make sure you sign up through E-Link to receive the latest university news and announcements. Through E-Link, you can receive ThisWeek@Elon, the university's e-mail newsletter, and other important announcements that are sent directly to your inbox. Also, please join Elon’s Town Square, E2, a social network for parents, students, faculty, staff, and alumni. E2 is the best way to stay connected and share information with parents in your area. We also sincerely ask you to support the Parents Fund. Your gift to the Parents Fund provides a critical source of annual funding to the university, which sustains and enhances Elon's quality programs and facilities that are enjoyed by our students.
