New study abroad course to head towards Singapore

Program designed for broadcast and jounralism majors to start in the fall of 2007

Elon students have studied abroad for approximately 25 years. However, the Isabella Cannon Centre for International Studies strives to do more. Students wanting to go abroad have a new program to consider– the Singapore Experience. The first group will set sail in the fall of 2007.

Singapore's landmark Merlion statue guards the entrance to the Singapore River. The lion head symbolizes the legend of the rediscovery of Singapura, and the fish tail symbolizes the ancient city of Temasek and represents Singapore's humble beginnings as a fishing village.

LINCS provides leadership opportunities for students

So here is the situation: The semester is coming to a close. Winter break is approaching, bringing a little rest and relaxation to students. But on the other side, it means leaving your friends behind. So what is the logical thing to do?


Partying and hanging out with friends is a way to let loose and forget about the piles among piles of work that need to be finished by the end of the semester. It is necessary to have a plan before kicking back with friends. Choose a designated driver before you go out, some one who’s responsible and will stay sober all night.

As soon as a driver who has been drinking gets behind the wheel of a car, it endangers not only his or her own safety, but they put passengers and other motorists at risk.
