Tim O'Brien

Tim O'Brien is an American novelist who mainly
writes about his experiences in the
Vietnam War and the impact that the war had on the American
soldiers who
fought there. He teaches in the MFA fiction writing program
at Texas State University.
O'Brien served as an infantry sergeant in the Army'c
American Division near Quang Ngai
in 1970-71. He is the author of The Things They
Carried; If I Die in a Combat Zone,
Box Me Up and Ship Me Home; and Going After
Cacciato.
