Meet the Current LEP Teaching Assistants

Corinne Haywood is a junior at Elon from Durham, North Carolina. She is an Environmental and Ecological Science major with a double minor in Biology and Geography.  She was a student in the LEP and is now a TA. Corinne is also an Eco-Rep for the Office of Sustainability, PHC Delegate for Delta Delta Delta Sorority, a member of Omicron Delta Kappa Leadership Honor Society, and a member of Habitat for Humanity, Sierra Club and plays on the Club Tennis team. She studied abroad in New Zealand for Winter Term 2014.


Alex Ward is a Senior from Raleigh, North Carolina, majoring in Psychology and minoring in Exercise Science and Neuroscience. Alex is committed to his academics and is in the process of completing his Honors Thesis titled; "A Natural Restorative: The Effect of Natural Environments on Ego Depletion". Alex is a leader and member of Pi Kappa Phi fraternity, and enjoys serving with people with disabilities through the fraternity's philanthropy, Push America. After studying abroad in Copenhagen during Fall 2012, Alex applied and was accepted as a Global Study Ambassador, and was also asked to serve as the student representative on the faculty/staff based Study Abroad Committee - two positions which he enjoys very much. Finally, Alex works at the Truitt Center for Religious and Spiritual Life in the newly completed Numen Lumen pavilion on campus. Participating in the LEP as a sophomore and serving as a Peer Facilitator in Spring 2013, Alex has now been involved with the LEP for over two years.


Jordynn McKnight is a junior at Elon majoring in Strategic Communication minoring in Digital Art and Sport and Event Management. Originally she is from Woodbridge, VA. On campus she is a S.M.A.R.T. mentor, Diversity Ambassador Guide, Resident Assistant, Programs Director for Her Campus Elon, Creative Coordinator with Live Oak Communications and plays club volleyball. She participated in the LEP program her sophomore year, but this is her first year as a LEP TA. She will be studying abroad this summer in Milan, Italy.

Maggie Schmidt is a junior from Bethesda, Maryland, majoring in political science and international studies with a concentration in Europe and a minoring in business administration. She is very committed to activities on campus including the LEAD program, club lacrosse, and Model UN. As well as many leadership roles at Elon such as a residence life assistant, a leader and member of Zeta Tau Alpha, and the political science honors society Pi Sigma Alpha.  Maggie was also involved in the LEP program sophomore year and is now one of the coordinators for the program this year.


Courtney Stover is a junior at Elon University. She is a double major in Public Health and Policy Studies with minors in German Studies and Women and Gender Studies. She works on campus as a SPARKS Peer Educator, is a brother of the service fraternity Alpha Phi Omega and is a member of Elon Women's Rugby. Courtney spent the past fall semester in Washington, D.C. completing an internship at a nonprofit through The Washington Center's Advocacy, Service and Arts program and also studied abroad for winter term in India.

Annie Curtis is a sophomore at Elon University. She is a Marketing major and Psychology minor from Ho-Ho-Kus, New Jersey. This is Annie's second year as a Life Entrepreneur Program Coordinator, and she participated in the program as a first year student. On campus she works at the Moseley Front Desk, and over winter term she studied abroad in Vietnam.




Anyssa McMillan is a rising senior at Elon University. She is a Marketing major with a Leadership studies minor. Anyssa has been very involved on campus throughout her time at Elon. She was President of Black Cultural Society and now she is on the Executive Board of Elon Women in Business. This is Anyssa's second year involved with the Life Entrepreneurship Program, but this is her first year as a teacher's assistant. Anyssa was currently accepted into Alpha Kappa Psi, a prestigious business fraternity.


Taylor Smith is a Junior at Elon University. He is a Marketing Major. He is the head of the Community Service committee for Kappa Alpha Order. Taylor Participates in the Isabella Leadership Cannon program and is taking Leadership and Entrepreneurship courses at Elon University. This is Taylor's first year as a TA for the Life Entrepreneurship program and was a participant in 2013.  This summer, Taylor will be interning with AGDATA Marketing in Charlotte, North Carolina. Taylor spent this past fall in Australia.
