What is it?
The Casa Italiana offers a unique environment for students interested in Italian culture, language, and society. In addition to the opportunity to practice Italian outside the classroom, regular events and meetings are organized, with the participation of the Italian Club, and sometimes independently.
Residents are not required to speak exclusively Italian, but students living in the Casa Italiana should expect to speak Italian as often as possible, particularly at group meals and special events.
Who will live there?
First-years and upperclassmen are equally welcome. Residents must have completed Italian 122 (or qualifying placement score) by the time they live in the house. The house is open to both men and women.
Residents are expected to make the Italian House a special place. You should have a positive attitude toward cross-cultural living and communication, contribute to the academic goals of the house, and maintain the cooperative spirit of the house.
