Students expand professional network at Sales Meet and Greet

More than 100 students connected with representatives from a diverse selection of employers.

The Elon Sales Meet and Greet attracted 113 students representing a variety of majors. Students interested in sales consulting, marketing, relationship and account management and business development learned of a selection of internship and job opportunities.

The Chandler Family Professional Sales Center partnered with the Student Professional Development Center to host the Feb. 28 event in Moseley Center to provide a platform for students and recruiters to connect.

“This event was one of the most successful spring Meet and Greet events we have had,” said Erin Gillespie, assistant professor of marketing and director of the Chandler Family Professional Sales Center. “The students really took advantage of this opportunity to network and the employers were extremely impressed with the exceptional students that the event attracted. Many interviews were held in the days following the Meet and Greet as a result of this networking event.”

The Chandler Family Professional Sales Center, established in 2008 by an endowment gift from Elon Trustee Thomas E. Chandler, owner of Chandler Concrete Company, and his family, promotes professional selling and sales management, provides high-quality instruction to both students and sales executives, and conducts research that advances the field of sales.

The next Sales Meet and Greet will be held in fall 2017.
