Celebrating SoTL poster session features faculty research

On Wednesday, April 25th, eight Elon faculty presented research posters to showcase Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL) projects.

 

On Wednesday, April 25, eight Elon faculty presented research posters to showcase Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL) projects. The Center for Advancement of Teaching and Learning (CATL, directed by Deandra Little), the Center for Engaged Learning (CEL, directed by Jessie L. Moore), and the Center for Research on Global Engagement (CRGE, directed by Maureen Vandermaas-Peeler) partnered to host the poster session, titled Celebrating SoTL.

The presenters and their project titles included:

  • Brandon Essary (Italian), New Life: Video Games, Literature, and Language (supported by CATL)
  • Stephen Bloch-Schulman (Philosophy), (supported by CATL)
  • Ketevan Kupatadze (Spanish), Student-Faculty Partnerships in Teaching and Learning: Democratizing Higher Education (supported by CEL)
  • Eric Hall (Exercise Science), The Importance of Mentorship in Undergraduate Research (supported by CEL)
  • Nina Namaste (Spanish) and Amanda Sturgill (Communications), SoTL as a part of the career path: Affordances and challenges with academic culture at Elon (supported by CEL)
  • Paula DiBiasio (Physical Therapy Education), (supported by CRGE)
  • Mussa Idris (Anthropology), Mentoring Undergraduate Students Ethnographic Research: High-Impact Practice in Local and Global Contexts (supported by CRGE)
  • Amanda Tapler (Public Health Studies), Community of Practice (supported by CRGE)
