The Center for Race, Ethnicity, & Diversity Education:

Mission and Goals

Mission

The mission of the Center for Race, Ethnicity, and Diversity Education (CREDE) is to foster the empowerment, well-being, and holistic growth of ALANAM (African American/Black, Latinx/Hispanic, Asian, Pacific Islander, Native American, Alaskan Native, Multiracial) students. Our commitment extends to offering resources that facilitate cultural awareness and intercultural competence for all students. We achieve this through the exploration and celebration of one’s own identities and a deep understanding of the diverse identities of others.

Vision

To become a premier contributor to creating a campus where all members exercise inclusion and individuals flourish.

Goals

  1. Empower ALANAM (African American/Black, Latinx/Hispanic, Asian, Pacific Islander, Native American, Alaskan Native, Multiracial) students by offering support, mentorship, and resources that contribute to their holistic growth and overall well-being, ultimately helping them thrive academically and personally during their college experience.
  2. Contribute to an inclusive campus environment where ALANAM (African American/Black, Latinx/Hispanic, Asian, Pacific Islander, Native American, Alaskan Native, Multiracial) students feel a sense of belonging and equity, and where all students are encouraged to actively engage with and respect the diverse identities and experiences of others.
  3. Provide educational programs and resources that enable students to develop cultural awareness and intercultural competence, fostering a deeper understanding of their own identities and appreciation of the diverse identities of others.
