Dr. Roslyn Crisp
It’s all about sticking to that dream and remaining focused on what you want to do.
Dr. Roslyn Crisp confronted barriers of racism and sexism to tenaciously pursue her aspiration of becoming a dentist and establishing her own private practice in Alamance County. In an industry where Black women were and still are underrepresented, she confronted numerous obstacles with unwavering resolve, determined to prove wrong those who doubted her capabilities.
Growing up during a time of segregation, when women dentists were rare, Crisp defied societal norms and pursued her education in college and dental school. Ultimately, she fulfilled her dream by establishing Crisp Dentistry in 1984.
Today, she is proud to be the powerful female dentist role model for young girls that she lacked growing up.
