Video producers travel with Elon president to capture India study abroad

Elon Study Abroad and Teaching and Learning Technologies have sent Ryan Witt, a video producer for TLT, and Maggie Cissel, a senior strategic communications student, to follow three study abroad trips to India this January.

Traveling with President Leo M. Lambert and his wife, Witt and Cissel are capturing video of the students’ study abroad experiences.

The India study abroad classes include groups studying business and culture, a group studying education and development and a Periclean scholars group studying health and human services.

Over the years, thousands of photographs have been taken of students study abroad experiences, but images can’t always accurately capture these experiences, TLT and Study Abroad staff members said.

“We’re hoping to capture a genuine experience, to get deep into the experience of study abroad, to really show what students are doing,” Witt said. “We really want to show faculty and students working together. We don’t just want to show a group posing in front of the Taj Mahal.”
