Elon senior Jack Minor Jr. was featured on a recent News 14 Carolina news segment about university students interning for the Republican National Convention in Tampa, Fla.

North Carolina’s only 24-hour statewide cable news channel showcased the role interns from Elon hold at the convention, and Minor, a broadcast journalism and political science double major from Conover, N.C., is working for the New York Post via The Washington Center for Internships and Academic Seminars.

From the story:

“It brings everything you are studying to life. It’s incredible because you can’t read about what’s going on here, you have to come here and experience it and for me it’s been a chance of a lifetime to be able to come here and see how everything works,” said Minor.

The Washington Center’s convention seminars are the only national academic program of their kind and size. According to the center, since 1984, more than 2,500 students from hundreds of academic institutions have attended the two-week academic convention seminars. Elon has had a longstanding relationship with the center.
