The Office of Sustainability is Hiring

The Office of Sustainability is hiring for summer 2013 and the 2013-2014 academic year.

The Office of Sustainability is accepting applications for student positions for summer 2013 and the 2013 – 2014 academic year. Positions are appropriate for students from a variety of backgrounds, including communications, accounting, environmental studies and more. The following positions are available:

Summer 2013

Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Emissions Intern: This intern will assist with collecting and analyzing data related to Elon’s climate neutrality goal, specifically Elon’s next GHG inventory and research related to Elon’s Climate Action Plan.

STARS Intern: This intern will assist with projects related to Elon’s STARS (Sustainability Tracking, Assessment and Rating System) report, specifically data collection and management.

Sustainability Projects Intern: This intern will develop and implement engaging communication materials for the existing sustainability tour and research and create materials that illustrate the cumulative impacts of individual behaviors on overall sustainability.

2013-2014 Academic Year

Communications Intern: This intern will develop a variety of graphic, written and social media communications to increase awareness of sustainability initiatives and to foster sustainable behaviors among students, faculty and staff.

Eco-Rep: Eco-Reps educate their peers about sustainability issues by promoting and raising awareness of sustainability related programs, coordinating with Residence/Greek Life staff to incorporate sustainability into programs and delivering Sustainable Living lessons to Elon 101 and Global Studies courses as requested.

Green Building Education Intern: This intern will help educate the campus and greater community about sustainable design and construction practices and their benefits through the development of educational materials.

Sustainability Intern, Student Coordinator for Eco-Reps Program: The primary responsibility of this intern is to help manage the Eco-Reps Program, a peer education program dedicated to promoting sustainability and environmentally responsible behaviors.
