The Civic Engagement Pathways Hub is an innovative resource designed to help Elon students explore a vast array of community and civic engagement opportunities in a more structured and intentional way.
The hub is a collaborative initiative designed by the Kernodle Center for Civic Life and Council on Civic Engagement and brought to life by Teaching and Learning Technologies.
The platform serves as a guide, answering the fundamental questions: “Where do I start?” and “Where do I go next?” By using this tool, students can navigate scaffolded curricular and co-curricular experiences and develop a personalized pathway to help them gain a broader understanding of their civic responsibilities and become active citizens.
The hub is structured into four levels, engage, immerse, integrate and commit, each offering progressive opportunities for impactful experiential learning and engagement. As they advance through these levels, students will develop a stronger connection to their communities, gain valuable skills and ultimately learn how to address broader social issues. Beyond benefiting students, the hub also serves as a valuable resource for faculty and staff, providing them with a framework to more effectively mentor and guide students.
The Civic Engagement Hub also contains curated community-based learning resources such as articles, books and podcasts, along with information about the history, opportunities and strengths of Alamance County. In addition, the website includes video modules developed by human servicesStudies majors to help prepare students to work alongside community partners.
