Elon University announces 2026 Executive Internship cohort

The internship allows Elon juniors and seniors to get a first-hand look at the inner workings of the university during the Winter Term.

Seven Elon University students have begun their work through the Executive Internship program at the university, working in various departments during the Winter Term.

The Executive Internship, offered through the Office of the President, is open to juniors and seniors, developing leadership and project management skills while applying undergraduate experience to help achieve university and departmental goals related to the Boldly Elon Strategic Plan.

The program is a year-round professional experience. Interns attend fall meetings where they are introduced to their department placements and senior leadership advisors before developing their projects. During this time, they become familiar with their peers and how these key leadership areas of Elon operate. During the Winter Term, students work full-time in their departments, including Admissions, University Communications, University Advancement and the Office of the Provost.

During the spring semester, interns reflect on their experiences and can expect to continue attending key university meetings and helping recruit new Executive Interns for the following academic year. Current interns will provide support by participating in and facilitating both the application and interview process.

Current interns for the 2025-26 academic year include:

  • Juan Daniel Chiriboga
  • Murphy Davis
  • Carlos Gomez Lopez
  • Anna Shirvinski
  • Selma Maric
  • Lucy McAfee
  • Alex Wigder

Applications for the 2026-27 academic year will open in Spring 2026.
