Roger Gant Jr., who served on Elon's board of trustees for 20 years, died July 26 at the age of 86. Gant was former president of Glen Raven Inc. and a second-generation descendant of the textile company's founder.

They said the communications patterns “digital natives” have already embraced through their use of technology tools will carry forward even as Millennials age, form families, and move up the economic ladder. They added that new social norms and etiquette are being formed as a result.

A new survey conducted by Elon's Imagining the Internet Center and the Pew Internet Project finds that technology experts predict people who use the Internet will "live mostly in the cloud" by 2020, working primarily through applications based on remote servers and accessed through networked devices.

Phoenix baseball team selected for NCAA Division I Championship Field

Elon's baseball team is among three Southern Conference teams named to the field of 64 for the 2010 NCAA Division I Baseball Championship. The Phoenix (38-22) will play its first round game against Alabama (37-22) in the Atlanta regional at 3 p.m., Friday, June 4. The other teams in the double elimination Atlanta regional are Mercer University (37-22) and Georgia Tech (45-13).
