Rhonda Belton, director of Application Technologies, recently received a Ph.D. in Curriculum and Teaching with a concentration in Higher Education Administration from The University of North Carolina at Greensboro.

Tim Peeples, Associate Provost for Faculty Affairs and Professor of English, and Paula Rosinski, Writing Center Director and Associate Professor of English, were honored Sept. 19 for their roles in founding the Carolinas Writing Program Administrators professional organization.

Pranab Das, professor of Physics, was elected to the Board of Trustees and Executive Committee of the International Society for Science and Religion (ISSR) at its annual general meeting in London this Saturday.

Max Negin, an assistant professor in the School of Communications, won a 2010 National Academy of Arts & Sciences Sports Emmy Award for his work as part of the studio team for NBC’s coverage of the XXI Olympic Winter Games in Vancouver, Canada.

Sang Nam, an assistant professor in the School of Communications, was awarded the Distinguished Service Award and Tablet of Honor from the Minister of Education, Science and Technology of Korea during the summer.

Julie Lellis, an assistant professor in the School of Communications, will serve as a founding editorial board member of Case Studies in Strategic Communication, an online peer-reviewed publication that will publish manuscripts that explain strategic communication strategies through the investigation of case studies.

Paul Crenshaw, assistant professor of English, has received an arts fellowship grant in fiction writing from the North Carolina Arts Council.

Glenda Crawford, education professor and director of the Elon teaching fellows program, was selected to be a 2011 Wye Fellow with the Aspen Institute and traveled to Maryland for the Institute’s annual faculty seminar, July 16-22.

Ron Klepcyk, director of human resources at Elon University, has been honored by the College and University Professional Association for Human Resources with its 2011 Distinguished Service Award in recognition of his work with the association through constituent activities, such as governance or leadership roles, and through professional development contributions in support of the association.
