Freshmen gathered in Alumni Gym to pledge their commitment to honesty, integrity, responsibility and respect — the foundation of Elon’s honor code — at the university’s third Call to Honor ceremony Thursday, Sept. 11.

Will violence in the world ever end? Dozens of students at a Jan. 23 "town hall” forum don’t think so. But they agreed the type of conflict seen throughout the 20th century – nations at war with each other – will likely diminish in the future as smaller groups, like al Qaeda, target civilians and governments for their own ends.

About 45 classes during January 2008 will relate to this year's Winter Term theme, "Emerging Futures: Foresight for Global Good." This is the eighth year that Elon has offered a special group of Winter Term courses united by a common theme. Details…
