Elon University’s Charleston Alumni Chapter presents “Elon 102: What They Didn't Teach You in College”
at the Renaissance Charleston Historic District from 6:30 to 8:30 PM on Wednesday, April 27th.

This year's event will begin with a reception followed by rotating breakout sessions as we discuss topics such as health and fitness, personal finance management, and marketing – all led by your peers! This event will allow to you ask questions of our alumni experts on these important topics in small groups that allow for discussion and conversation.

Meet our Guest Speakers:

Eileen Burkhardt '12

Eileen serves as the Executive Director of Be A Mentor, a Charleston-based non-profit organization that pairs volunteer mentors with underserved youth in the community. Eileen graduated from Elon University in North Carolina in 2012 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in International Studies, as well as minors in Spanish, Political Science and Women/Gender Studies.  She was recently recognized as one of 20 to Know in North Charleston Magazine and previously worked coordinating Special Events for the South Carolina Aquarium.  She is a Lunch Buddy at a local elementary school and visits Kinsey, her 3rd grade mentee, weekly.

 

Taylor Powell '06 PT'10

After graduating from Elon in 2006 with a degree in Exercise/Sport Science, Taylor returned to Elon to earn his Doctorate of Physical Therapy in 2010.

After graduating in 2010, Taylor worked at Trident Medical Center as an acute physical therapist until 2014 on the Orthopedic/neurological floor. During his time there, worked with the orthopedic surgeons to improve their joint replacement program. In 2014, he changed to home health with Intrepid, USA working in the Colleton county area. Recently, Taylor was promoted to the Rehabilitation Director position to assist with program development and quality care. Taylor prides himself in collaborating with the medical field from hospital administrators, physicians, and surgeons. He currently is the low country district chair for the South Carolina Physical Therapy Association and on the research committee.

 

Gentry Todd '08 

Gentry is an ’08 grad of Elon University with a BA of Economics. Gentry Todd is a partner with the Boulevard Company, whose sales eclipsed $100,000,000 in 2015. A Realtor of Distinction in Charleston for 2 years in a row, his team sold $14 million in 2015. Gentry works with both buyers and sellers, primarily selling residential property.

Prior to landing in Charleston he spent time as both a commercial contractor and operated/sold a digital marketing firm.
