Chapter events

These social events allow new graduates and relocated alumni to connect to their local alumni chapter through meeting alumni living in their region. This is also a great opportunity to bring alumni together to kick off the year of chapter events. Learn more here about the 2023 Welcome to the City event series!

In honor of Elon’s annual day of giving, chapters host evening events to celebrate Elon on a global scale. These events encourage the spirit of philanthropy by providing the opportunity for members to make a gift to Elon. The parties include the theme of the day, bringing the spirit from campus out into the regional chapters.

These events focus on creating an opportunity for alumni to gain insight, advice and knowledge applicable to their professional and personal goals. The event structure is different in each city, but typically involves networking opportunities as well as the chance to hear from speakers and panelists who are highly successful in their industries, willing to share experiences and helpful career advice, and are typically fellow Elon alumni.

Typically, regional chapters find a local cause, program or annual event to participate in as a chapter. These events take on various forms but all meet the goals of giving back to the local community with members’ time and talents.

Chapters also host other unique events, often based on their region and the interest of the local alumni. These may include attending sporting events, participating in tours of local attractions, happy hours/socials and networking events.

In addition, the university hosts a series of Evening for Elon events across the nation each year. These events provide Elon alumni, parents and friends an opportunity to hear a university update from Elon University President Connie Book.
