Brian Feeley is the Director of Alumni Engagement at Elon University. He returned to Elon in 2014 after 10 years at The Washington Center, a nonprofit higher education organization that provides opportunities for students to work and learn in Washington, D.C., for academic credit. As the center’s vice president for admissions and institutional relations, he managed partnerships with over 400 academic institutions and oversaw significant growth in domestic enrollment and the organization’s internship placement services.

He leads a team of nine staff members committed to engaging Elon’s 30,000 alumni in a lifelong relationship as partners, advocates and investors, a key priority of the Elon Commitment strategic plan. Since the start of the strategic plan, the number of alumni attending events has nearly tripled, and the number of alumni serving in volunteer roles is up tenfold. Additionally, the number of undergraduate alumni donors has increased every year during The Elon Commitment.

Brian graduated from Elon in 2003 with a degree in political science and completed an internship at the United States Department of State. He earned a master’s degree in business administration from Johns Hopkins University. Currently, he is an elected member of the Alamance County Board of Education. Brian, a native of Centerport, NY, enjoys spending time with his wife Lauren ’04 and their two children, Ashlyn and Colin.

As a recent graduate of Elon, I'm excited to help our university grow through the wonderful alumni who now inhabit the world. I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in International Studies in 2016. I focused my time at Elon on becoming a global citizen by studying abroad three times by spending a semester on Semester at Sea, a semester in Copenhagen, and a January Term in Vietnam. Additionally, I was the Student Coordinator of the Global Ambassador Program at Elon helping prospective students find opportunities abroad as I did.

I found the community of our school to be my favorite aspect of my time at Elon. As an Alumni Engagement Officer I focus on strengthening that community outside our campus. I oversee California, Florida, Georgia, Tennessee, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Raleigh, North Carolina. If you live in any of these regions please reach out, because I'd love to talk, and help you become a fully engaged alumni.

I graduated from Elon University in 2013 with a degree in strategic communications and minors in dance and international studies. Outside of the classroom, most of my time was dedicated to Alpha Omicron Pi, Student Alumni Council (now Student Alumni Ambassadors), and Senior Class Giving. I also interned with various organizations in Burlington and Greensboro. I was very fortunate to study abroad over two Winter Terms as part of an indigenous studies course in Perth, Australia and a service-learning course in Cape Town and Johannesburg, South Africa. My transformational experiences as an Elon student sparked my desire to be a lifelong learner and gave me the opportunity to develop the leadership skills necessary to becoming a successful and well-rounded global citizen. In 2017, I graduated from the Elon Love School of Business part-time MBA program.

I began working for the university two weeks after my undergraduate graduation and spent two years traveling—from Florida to Massachusetts to California—developing relationships with our incredible alumni in my role as an alumni engagement officer. In June 2015, I transitioned into the role of coordinator of alumni engagement and special events, where my primary responsibilities included the management of Homecoming weekend, Top 10 Under 10 Alumni Awards and our Social Media Ambassador alumni volunteer program. In June 2017, I transitioned into the role of Assistant Director of Regional Alumni Engagement. In this role, I plan and execute our Evening for Elon event series and lead a team focused on deepening our alumni engagement efforts through our regional chapter volunteers and events. I am passionate about Elon and confident in the bright future of this university!

I graduated from Elon University in 2009 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science with Minors in History and Leadership Studies.  Outside of the classroom was primarily dedicated to Pi Kappa Phi where I served as Philanthropy Chairman, the Isabella Cannon Leadership Fellows Program where I served as First Year Fellows Director and to the Office of Admissions as a University Guide. I was very fortunate to study abroad during Fall 2008 in Cosa Rica.

After Elon, I participated in a cross country cycling ride called Journey of Hope with The Ability Experience where we raised money and awareness for people with disabilities.  I then worked for a year at the United States Census Bureau as an Analyst.  After completing graduate school where I earned a Master of Education degree in Higher Education Administration at North Carolina State University, I worked for four years at Pi Kappa Phi Fraternity in Chapter Development.  In 2015 I moved to Greensboro and served as a Campaign Manager at United Way of Greater Greensboro before I returned to my alma mater to serve as Sr. Alumni Engagement Officer where I work to spread the Partner, Advocate and Investor message with alumni all over the country.

A recent 2017 Elon University graduate, I majored in Public Health with minors in Biology and Human Service Studies. Elon provided me with a variety of opportunities, including the ability to complete undergraduate research through the Elon College Fellows program, participate in the Executive Internship program in the Office of University Advancement, serve on the President’s Student Leadership Advisory Council, and study abroad for a winter term in South Africa. I was also an Odyssey Scholar, cherished my time as a University Guide, and was involved in Greek Life on campus. As an Alumni Engagement Officer, I look forward to helping you connect and stay involved as a partner, advocate and investor.

As a native of North Carolina, I’ve always admired Elon and feel privileged to work for a university that develops global citizens, informed leaders and loyal alumni. I was born and raised in Raleigh, but lived more recently in Atlanta before transitioning back to my childhood home. I earned my degree in communication studies from Appalachian State University, and my master’s degree in college student affairs administration from the University of Georgia. Higher education has always been a passion of mine and I bring more than five years of experience in alumni relations and student affairs work, including student and alumni programming, student leadership development, volunteer management and event planning.

In my role as assistant director of alumni relations, I oversee our affinity networks and manage alumni student programming and events. We are always seeking new opportunities to engage alumni through our affinity programs, so please feel free to contact me if you’re interested in knowing more or getting involved within any of our groups.

As a recent graduate of Elon University and the great-great-grandson of former Elon President Emmett L. Moffitt, I feel very fortunate to continue my family legacy, serving the university and its alumni. I graduated in 2015 with a degree in business administration with a focus in management. During my time as a student, I developed into a global citizen with the opportunity to study abroad in Germany, France and the Czech Republic. I was fortunate to gain invaluable knowledge from mentors, faculty and staff, while acquiring applicable skills through student organizations, service and an internship.

As the coordinator of regional alumni engagement, I work with all of Elon’s 36 alumni chapters and clubs and their dedicated alumni volunteer boards to provide alumni communities across the country the opportunity to remain engaged with Elon.
