What makes a message work online? In the Multimedia Authoring minor, you’ll combine writing, design and computing to create digital content people can understand and use. The subject you study in your major can become the focus of that work, whether you’re explaining research, telling a story or helping an organization reach an audience. Your elective choices let you shape your approach, and the studio gives you experience creating content for a client.

Connect it to Your Major

Your major gives you something to communicate. This minor helps you consider who needs that information and which formats will help them use it.

For example:

  • Engineering – Use interactive visuals and clear explanations to help others understand a technical project.
  • Public Health – Create visual explanations that make health information easier for people to understand.
  • History – Build a digital exhibit that brings together writing, images and archival sources.

These are possible directions. Your electives let you develop the creative and technical skills that fit the work you want to make.
