Dr. Brittany Mercado
Research/Creative Interests
I study employee performance, with an emphasis on harmful behaviors at work (i.e., counterproductive work behaviors), as well as employee selection and assessment. Lately, I focus on how employees use technology to engage in these behaviors, from minor varieties (e.g., cyberloafing) to severe behaviors (e.g., police misconduct, harassment).
What types of “data” do you commonly use?
I conduct primarily quantitative, empirical research, most often based on survey data.
What types of collaborations are you open to?
Open to working with students, faculty, or staff on projects related to employee performance.
