Research/Creative Interests

I use qualitative and quantitative methods to study factors that influence the success of science education and perceptions of science. My research students investigate the impact of physical learning spaces, instructor behavior, and cognitive and social variables on learning.

Research/Creative Needs

I am open to exploring questions of interest to prospective mentees. I am also open to including students on my current projects related to writing to learn, equity and access in STEM, and high-impact teaching practices.

  • Most of my students are biology, education, and/or psychology majors, but I am open to working with students from all fields, backgrounds, and experience levels.
