Raising Endowed Support for Internships

Women support Elon across multiple initiatives. Through facilitated focus group discussions, building endowed support for internships was chosen as the focus area for the first phase of this initiative. Internships serve a critical purpose of setting students up for success after graduation. Elon’s goal is to raise the endowed funds necessary to make internships 100% accessible for any student who wants or needs one.

Quick Stats:

• 88% of Elon students complete at least one internship prior to graduation
• 43% of these internships are unpaid

Philanthropic Goal:

The Women of Elon will increase the number of students receiving need-based internship support. Through a collective effort including both individual and group gifts, a total of $2.5 million will be raised by Spring 2026.

The minimum gift commitment to establish an endowed internship fund at Elon is $50,000. This can be paid over five years and generates approximately $2,250 in annual support. During this initiative, women are encouraged to gather a group of friends and pool their resources to create a collective endowed internship fund. For more information about making an endowed gift, please contact Jill Hollis Stratton ’13 G’17 at jstratton2@elon.edu.

For donors wanting to support the effort but not at the endowment level, annual gifts can be made to the Women of Elon fund. These gifts go directly to supporting Elon interns with current need. To make an annual gift to the Women of Elon fund, click the button below.
