Design & Integration’s (D&I) Architects and Project Leads collaborate with faculty and staff stakeholders to research, design, and implement technology solutions for unique outcomes such as classroom learning, campus social spaces, meeting areas, and event spaces. With a commitment to innovation and customer service, D&I empowers a diverse professional team to support teaching, learning, and engagement experiences that meet the evolving needs of the Elon community. This team works closely with campus partners to integrate effective technologies in new and renovated campus spaces while providing a smooth transition to support teams.

Mission

The mission of the Design & Integration team is to incorporate elements of technology into a wide array of university spaces for multiple uses. Our goal is to guide and coach a diverse professional staff to attain a high level of customer service and delivery-focused initiatives while keeping pace with modern requirements and areas of innovation toward effective teaching, learning, and engagement experiences at Elon.

Organizational Structure and Services

Design and Integration is organized into two teams:

Operational Support

Our Classroom Support Specialists are technology experts who present instruction in the classroom. They support over 300 campus technology-enabled spaces consisting of classrooms, meeting spaces, and common areas on campus. This team collaborates with users to assess how classroom technologies are used and provides recommendations for technology updates when needed.

Design Services

Design & Integration’s Architects and Engineers collaborate with faculty and staff to engineer innovative technology solutions that enhance classroom learning, campus social spaces, meeting areas, and event venues. Our team consults, designs, and integrates customized systems to achieve unique outcomes while ensuring a seamless transition of new technologies into operational use.
