16th Annual Teaching & Learning Conference call for proposals

The 16th Annual Elon Teaching & Learning Conference is now open for proposal submissions.

The 16th Annual Elon Teaching & Learning Conference is now open for proposal submissions. The conference, jointly sponsored by Elon’s Center for the Advancement of Teaching and Learning (CATL) and Teaching and Learning Technologies (TLT) will be held at Elon on Thursday, Aug. 15, 2019, in the School of Communications.

This year’s conference theme is "Cultivating Curiosity." In interactive sessions and presentations, attendees will share strategies that motivate student learning, foster student resiliency, and empower students by connecting their learning to evidence-based practices in inclusive teaching, non-conventional pedagogies, and work-integrated learning. We will also reflect on how we might effectively make sense of and implement the growing wealth of insights about teaching and learning afforded by studies in the cognitive sciences.

We invite proposals for two session types:

  • 90-minute interactive workshops
  • 40-minute presentations highlighting an innovative pedagogical strategy and evidence of its impact

Registration for the conference will open in mid-April and you’ll find more news and updates on the conference website, CATL and TLT’s social media and E-Net. Attendance costs will be covered by the conference hosts. For more information on the call for proposals and to submit a proposal, please visit the proposals page on our website. Inquiries may be emailed to catl@elon.edu.
