Vandermaas-Peeler co-facilitated workshop on mentoring undergraduate research in global contexts at the WISE conference

With colleagues at AAC&U and Purdue University, Vandermaas-Peeler co-facilitated a workshop on mentoring undergraduate research in global contexts at the WISE conference sponsored by Wake Forest University.

With Dawn Whitehead of AAC&U and Kris Acheson-Clair of Purdue University, Professor of Psychology Maureen Vandermaas-Peeler co-facilitated a workshop, Reimagining Mentored Undergraduate Research in Global Contexts for Depth and Breadth, at the WISE conference sponsored by Wake Forest University on Feb. 10 and 11.

This year the well-attended conference, Reimagining Intercultural Learning, was virtual and free for participants, opening up new spaces of interaction across contexts and time zones. The collaboration between Whitehead, Acheson-Clair and Vandermaas-Peeler represents one outcome of a think tank held in the fall of 2020. Additional collaborative endeavors to explore the intersections of mentoring and two high-impact practices, global learning and undergraduate research, are in progress with colleagues from Elon University and around the world.
