Vice President for Student Life, Jon Dooley, shared information on Monday, Oct. 13, about operations and safety on campus during Fall Break.
Fall Break for undergraduate students and some graduate programs begins Wednesday, Oct. 15, after the conclusion of evening classes, and ends at 8 a.m. Monday, Oct. 20.
Students should note that residence halls do not officially “close” during Fall Break (unlike Thanksgiving or Winter Breaks). University offices are closed on Friday, Oct. 17, for an employee fall break holiday.
As a reminder, there are several 24/7 services that remain available throughout this time:
- Campus Safety & Police can be reached at 336-278-5555. They can also assist with connections to the Student Life on-call administrators.
- Crisis Counselors are available at 336-278-2222 for urgent mental health needs.
- SAFEline is available at 336-278-3333 for confidential support with identity-based bias, sexual violence, or interpersonal violence – they can also be a confidential resource to access on-call violence responders.
- TimelyCare, a free virtual medical and mental health service, is available 24/7 throughout the break from anywhere in the United States.
Parking
If you are leaving your vehicle on campus, please take any valuables with you. Make sure your vehicle doors are locked. Please make sure your vehicle is parked in the lot where you are permitted. Do not leave your vehicle in any Faculty/Staff lot, the Inman Admissions lot, or at The Inn at Elon.
Below are hours of student services that continue operations throughout the break:
Barnes & Noble at Elon University
- The Barnes & Noble store will have adjusted hours during fall break:
- Thursday, Oct. 16 & Friday, Oct. 17: 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.
- Saturday, Oct. 18: 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.
- Sunday, Oct. 19: Closed

Belk Library
The Belk Library will close at 8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 15, and will be open throughout Fall Break with adjusted hours:
- Thursday, Oct. 16: 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.
- Friday, Oct. 17: 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.
- Saturday, Oct. 18: 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.
- Normal hours resume Sunday, Oct. 19, at 10 a.m.

Campus Recreation
Recreation facilities will remain open during Fall Break, but most will have modified hours. Visit the Campus Recreation website for detailed information about facilities and programs.
Counseling Services
- Counseling Services is open for appointments during regular business hours on Thursday, Oct. 16, 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
- The office is closed on Friday, Oct. 17.
- TimelyCare mental telehealth service is available 24/7 throughout the break.
- The crisis counselor on-call also remains available 24/7 by calling 336-278-2222.
- If a student is experiencing a psychological emergency that is life-threatening or involves imminent danger (risk of harm to self or others at any time), call 9-1-1 for immediate assistance.
Elon Dining
- All dining locations will have modified hours during Fall Break, with Lakeside serving as the primary dining hall location during the break.

Moseley Center
The Moseley Center will remain open throughout Fall Break with the following hours of operation:
- Wednesday, Oct. 15: 7 a.m. – 8 p.m.
- Thursday, Oct. 16: 7 a.m. – 5 p.m.
- Friday, Oct. 17: 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.
- Saturday, Oct. 18: 9 a.m. – 2 p.m.
- Sunday, Oct. 19: 11 a.m. – midnight

Mail Services
- Mail Services will be closed from Friday, Oct. 17 to Sunday, Oct. 19.
- Normal hours will resume on Monday, Oct. 20.
- Please note that shipping partners will hold items during this time, and Mail Services will process everything as soon as possible when they reopen.

Residence Life
- Residence halls will remain open during Fall Break.
- Offices remain open during the break during regular weekday business hours, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m., except on Friday, Oct. 17, when University offices are closed.
Student Health Services
- Student Health Services will remain open for appointments on Thursday, Oct. 16, 9 a.m. – 3 p.m., and Friday, Oct. 17, 9 a.m. – 2 p.m.
- Student Health Services is closed on Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 18-19.
- The office will resume regular operating hours on Monday, Oct. 20, at 8:30 a.m.

Transportation and Elon Express
- Transportation and the Elon Express will continue to provide services on a reduced schedule.
- All Elon Express Shuttle Routes will stop on Wednesday, Oct. 15, at 5 p.m. The Elon Express will resume the regular schedule on Monday, Oct. 20.
