Elon Electric Ensemble (E3)

(MUS 110A) The Elon University Electric Ensemble is the living laboratory for live sound production and music performance in commercial & popular styles. Instrumentation includes, male and female lead & background vocals, lead & rhythm guitars, bass guitar, keyboards, drums, auxiliary percussion, and other instruments as needed.

In addition to performance experience, students have the opportunity to compose and arrange material for performance by the ensemble and mix sound for rehearsals and live performance.

Electric Ensemble rehearses Mondays & Wednesdays, 1:40-3:20. Membership is by audition only. Contact Dr. Coleman for audition information.

 


Techtronica

(MUS 106) Techtronica is an ensemble focused on the use of technology in musical performances of popular music.  The ensemble realizes studio productions on a number of unconventional instruments including computers, synthesizers, samplers, turntables, digital instruments, and loopers to name a few.  As a result, Techtronica is able to showcase students in live performances of electronic musical styles such as house, trance, techno, breakbeat, dubstep, trap, etc.  Other genres of music included in concert programs include pop and hip-hop. 

Techtronica has performed the following songs as well as many others: "Fineshrine" by Purity Ring, "Figure 8" by Ellie Goulding, "Hide and Seek" by Imogen Heap, "UFK Dubstep Tutorial" by Dubba Johnny, "Intro" by The xx, "Trap Back Jumpin" by T.I., and "Best I Ever Had" by Drake.

Techtronica rehearses from 10:50 – 12:00 on Mondays and Wednesdays.  An audition is required.  Contact Professor Stevenson for more information.
