Music Performance Shines

Joshua Carswell ('11) just released his debut album "Debonair." Upon graduating Elon University Joshua was the first prize winner at the "American Traditions Competition" in Savannah, GA and subsequently was a featured soloist with the Savannah Philharmonic. He is currently touring with top 10 Billboard charting artists the "Annie Moses Band."

Music Production & Recording Arts Booms!

The university completed major renovations to Recording Studio A in the Center for the Arts and is now in process of renovating a facility for live sound, a second recording studio, and practice facilities on south campus to open in 2014.

Graduates of the general music studies degree go on to graduate school, perform, compose, teach, and continue their passion for music in combination with other fields such as arts management, public relations, and business.

President's Gala Celebrates Musical Diversity.

The April 27, 2013 President's Gala featured a variety of performances by members of Elon's Music Department, culminating in a grand finale world premiere of "In varietate concordia (Many and One) composed by Associate Professor Todd Coleman.

Frank Hurd '12 writes lead track for BOSTON STRONG charitable campaign

The music production & recording arts alumnus composed and recorded "Light," the first song of a new album produced by Musicians for a Cause in support of the nonprofit One Fund Boston.

Students advance in vocal competition

Five Elon students competed at the National Association of Teachers of Singing Mid-Atlantic Region competition and conference on Saturday, April 5.

New verse of Elon’s alma mater performed at Convocation

Composed by Associate Professor Stephen A. Futrell in the Department of Music, a “celebratory verse” that originally debuted as part of the university’s Ever Elon fundraising campaign was formally recognized this spring as a permanent addition to the institution’s alma mater.
