Dear Elon Parents,

On behalf of the Parents Council, we would like to welcome the parents of the Class of 2015 and new transfer students to Elon! You have become members of a very special family. Elon is a unique place where students, faculty, staff and parents work together to further your sons’ and daughters’ education, personal growth, and success. We are looking forward to an exciting year on campus with new growth happening in residence life, student career development, a new town center, and so much more.

As an Elon parent, you are now a member of the Elon Parents Association. The Elon Parents Council serves as the board of the Elon Parents Association, keeping you informed about university activities, policies, programs and plans for future development. The Council provides parents with a means to share observations, suggestions or concerns about university programs and student life. Please feel free to contact us or any member of the Council through the Office of Parent Programs at 877.784.ELON.

The most enjoyable responsibilities that the association and council assist with are Summer Welcome Events. These informal gatherings are hosted by our members to introduce new students and their families to Elon before the school year begins. It is a great opportunity to network with other parents in your area. For those of you who do not live near one of these events, you are welcome to contact us or any council member through the Office of Parent Programs. You will want to be sure to sign up for This Week@Elon if you have not already done so. This will deliver Elon’s weekly newsletter as well as important announcements directly to your email inbox. Also, please join Elon’s Town Square, E2, a social network for parents, students, faculty and staff, and alumni.

We sincerely ask you to support the Parents & Grandparents Fund, or another designation of importance to you or your student. Your annual gift to Elon provides a very important source of funding to the university for improving and maintaining the high quality programs and facilities enjoyed by our students. A gift of any amount is important and most appreciated.

We hope that you have made plans to join us on campus for Family Weekend on September 23-25. The Parents Council and other parent volunteers will be welcoming families during registration in the Koury Center Concourse. We are looking forward to seeing familiar faces and meeting new friends.
