Research/Creative Interests
I am interested in how students learn statistics, specifically how issues around diversity, equity, and inclusion affect student learning of statistics. Additionally, I am interested in how we as mathematics educators can work to better prepare our K-12 preservice teachers to teach statistics that they will be required to teach one day.
Research/Creative Needs
I use a mix of both qualitative and quantitative research methods. I often need students to help me collect and organize data (both qualitative and quantitative), analyze data, and help write research reports.
Mentoring Style
- Typically one-on-one
- One-on-one or in small groups, depending on the project

Student Qualifications
- My research is in the intersections of statistics and education, as well as diversity, equity, and inclusion. I am pretty open to the kinds of students to mentor. I have mentored statistics majors as well as middle grades and elementary education majors.
- I am particularly interested in mentoring first generation college students.
