Everybody who comes to the center becomes my kid.
Beverly Shoffner, affectionately called “Zip”, has always been a giver to her community. She has dedicated her life to interacting with and providing for people.
At the young age of 13, Beverly began her work for the community through Burlington Recreation & Parks. She went on to deepen her impact through the organization for the next 40 years. She is currently Director of the Fairchild Community Center. Shoffner takes pride in her work and feels that any child who comes to the center is like her own.
Beverly believes in creating inclusive spaces where all ages and identities can thrive and be supported. She practices this belief every day in her work for the community.
